I hope you enjoy these simple recipes for protein bites. They are customizable to your needs and budget. I left powdered sugar in the recipe because it is inexpensive and you can adjust it based on the sugar content you are looking for. You can also use maple syrup, honey, or agave, just remember to eliminate the water since those provide the moisture needed.
Our goal with sugar is to reduce the amount we have everyday. Honestly if using powdered sugar in this recipe works for you to help reduce sugar over all because you are making homemade snacks then don’t feel bad for a minute. There is sugar in all types of sweeteners. I wouldn’t suggest someone consumes maple syrup all day, same with granulated sugar. The goal to be aware of your intake, where hidden sugar sources are coming from, and do your best with reducing overall intake.
Get your kids in the kitchen. This is a perfect no bake recipe to have them try.

Sugar Substitutes:
You can always use maple syrup or honey in these recipes. They are just more expensive so I wanted to keep the cost down. Using the powered sugar is not "bad" its just another sugar. Keeping the sugar on the lower side regardless of type is more important.
If using liquid sugar - 1/3 cup and eliminate the water.
